    27 and 28 were Ferrari Formula one numbers from 1981 to 1995 except in 1990 when reigning WC Alain Prost had the right to use #1 and drove for the team, Nigel Mansell used #2. Popular driver Gilles
    Villeneuve used the number on his final days in F1 and later was adopted by his son, Formula One World Champion Jacques Villeneuve, in his NASCAR debut. Jean Alesi, another popular Ferrari driver was
    the last one ever to use the number back in 1995, also winning the last race with it (as of August 2011), the Canadian GP. Ayrton Senna won his second Formula One World Championship using the mystic
    number 27 in 1990 in a McLaren Honda, as mentioned, the only time Ferrari didn't use the number during that period.
  • Paul Tracy, CART race car driver won his first world title in Champ Car in 2003. He had a 27 point advantage over 2nd place in the championship. He's one of my favorite drivers and has been trying to
    win the CART championship for 12 years

  • Twenty-seven is a perfect cube, being 33 = 3 × 3 × 3. 27 is also 23 (see tetration). There are exactly 27 straight lines on a smooth cubic surface, which give a basis of the fundamental representation of the E6 Lie algebra. 27 is also a decagonal number. 27 has an aliquot sum of 13 and is the first composite member of the 13-aliquot tree with the aliquot sequence (27,13,1,0). Twenty-seven is the aliquot sum of the two odd discrete semiprimes 69 and 133. 273 = 19,683 and 1+9+6+8+3=27. In base 10, it is the first composite number not evenly divisible by any of its digits. It is the radix (base) of the septemvigesimal positional numeral system. 27 is the only positive integer that is 3 times the sum of its digits.
  • The unique simple formally real Jordan algebra, the exceptional Jordan algebra of self-adjoint 3 by 3 matrices of quaternions, is 27-dimensional.[1]
  • It is the twenty-eighth (and twenty-ninth) digit in π. (3.141592653589793238462643383279...). If you start counting with 0 it is considered one of few Self-Locating strings in pi.
  • 27 contains the decimal digits 2 and 7, and is the result of adding together the integers from 2 to 7 (2+3+4+5+6+7=27)

  • In Rihanna's song "Hard" the lyrics go "Who think they test me now, Run through your town, I shut it down, Brilliant, resilient, Fan mail from 27 million"

  • According to the British music magazine Mojo (December 2007) and the Spanish language newsweekly Proceso, and other Latin American publications, the title was also inspired by Chapter 27 of Robert Rosen's book Nowhere Man: The Final Days of John Lennon. Rosen's book explores the numerological meaning of 27, “the triple 9”, a number of profound importance to John Lennon. Lennon was deeply interested in numerology, particularly Cheiro’s Book of Numbers, and nine and all its multiples.

  • Aidan Stevens, bassist of the London-based band 'This Is Not A Dead Transmission' has the number 27 on his guitars which are all black and silver.

  • The band Marvelous 3 has a song called "#27" on their "Hey!" Album, which was released on October, 27th, 1998.

  • Country music singer Gretchen Wilson also see the number 27 in her life. She has a #27 on a dogtag on her neclace and her official fan club is called Club 27.

  • "Weird Al" Yankovic is obsessed with the number 27 and hides them all over his album artwork, videos and even in his music. Check out the Weird Al 27 List.

  • The Metallica albums "Load" and "Reload" were one recording split into 2 separate released albums. Load and Reload had a combination of 27 tracks. The sound of the albums also defined the "new" Metallica.

  • As well as being the first music video ever shown, 'Video Killed the Radio Star' was also the millionth shown on MTV on February 27th, 2000. It's also the 3rd most aired video in MTV history. Peter Gabriel's 'Sledgehammer' is 1st.
